The New Exploring Travel Experience In Iceland

Iceland is the top travel destination for vaccinated travelers, as the recent MMR (measles, mumps and rubella) vaccine law has made it possible for anyone who is 18 years of age or older to get the measles, mumps and rubella vaccine. MMR is a very safe vaccine that completely prevents illness, and it is an integral part of your medical history.

Before you visit Iceland, please make sure you have all your vaccinations. Those who have had all their vaccinations are considered to be fully vaccinated. The MMR vaccine is usually given in the United States in two doses, with the first dose given 12-15 months and the second dose 6-12 months after the first. It is safe to visit Iceland if you have had one dose of MMR, and some families choose to take a second dose to be on the safe side.

The main travel hazards in Iceland include the risk of contracting measles or a rash that isn't light, so there is a very low risk of contracting measles if you have the MMR vaccine. The risk of contracting a cold is still very low, because only 2% of the population have contracted the disease. But be sure to keep your skin protected, and take preventative medication like a good sunscreen.

For sun protection, protect your face, eyes and ears with a wide-brimmed hat and sunglasses. A wide brimmed hat is essential to prevent sunburn. But for the eyes, it is not only necessary, it is advisable to wear sunglasses that block 99.9% of the harmful UVA rays and UVB rays.

The air is very clean, but be sure to wear a mask if you are going on outdoor activities. For climbing mountains or skiing, you are not required to wear a mask. However, a good head scarf is mandatory.

The water in Iceland is very safe. The tap water is crystal clear, has very low bacteria levels and has trace amounts of arsenic. Icelandic restaurants use purified water. If you get sick, the contamination level in the water is very low. And if you get diarrhea, the water is safe againt it.

Safety measures in Iceland are all in place to keep your safety, even if you are out on the white water rapids. No safety measures have been found yet that could prevent you from taking risks to experience something completely different, just like in the old times.

Iceland is very unique in the world, because it is the only destination that features the possibility to get into a raft while you are on the raft. The idea is to get down and up the raft. This is not possible anywhere else in the world. The Icelandis are still being developed. The first few ones launched in June 2008 have shown that these can handle up to 40 people in them. There will be more coming soon, it would be interesting to know whether the captain will be able to get some soloists down them.

This is the greatest attraction for visitors to Iceland. These will be the great adventure of the future.
